Appletree Capital Ltd. is a Chicago area based private investment firm engaged to manage, invest and participate in early-stage entities.
Our business is to grow and nurture companies and, as they mature and develop, "pick from the tree" those companies we believe are ripe for a sale or merger. Appletree's team is comprised of professionals with backgrounds in private equity, investment banking, investment research, and experience at the operating level. We are skilled in working with entrepreneurs, because we are entrepreneurs ourselves.

Our Business
The business of Appletree is to seek out special situation opportunities in emerging growth and business where consolidation and roll-up present opportunities to grow the business. Appletree provides companies with capital, management and financial advisory expertise. We are an active participant in the companies to which we provide our services, and our focus is squarely on companies that are seeking to grow and consolidate within their industry.
We have been involved with companies in the consumer products and retail sector.
Our Funds
Appletree Capital Ltd. is an independent sponsor also known as a "fundless sponsor" of private equity transactions in which it will initiate the acquisition in a targeted industry, and seek investors from existing larger private equity firms, while retaining an equity interest in the acquired entity.
Appletree with also initiate and participate in what is known as a “search fund” that raises the capital before acquiring or investing in a business.
Appletree has established relationships with existing private equity firms, attorneys dealing in the M&A arena, and business brokerage firms. Appletree will initiate the private equity transactions in participation with other private equity groups. The firm will provide its expertise at both the board and operating levels.
